Spiderman – Shattered Dimensions Quick Review

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions has revolutionised the Spider-Man sequence. After a long development process I had high expectations for the game.

Maybe this Spider-Man game doesn't stand out with graphics or sound but it does have great plot. The idea of a tablet shattered across 4 dimensions, so it doesn't fall in the wrong hands, is creative and the gameplay it offers is always different in any dimension. There is a different Spider-Man and a different bad character in every dimension. All of the parts from the shattered tablet must be found and secured by Spidey, because the one who has the tablet becomes too powerful. In the other Spider-Man games you will have an open environment city where Spidey will be swinging from building to building and completing different assignments. In this game the things are straighter forward. You will have 13 levels, about 3 levels on each dimension, and each level may take from half an hour to a hour to complete. Each dimension has its own characteristic gameplay. The 4 dimensions: The Amazing Universe , The Noir Universe, The 2099 Universe and The Ultimate Universe.

The Amazing Universe. The Amazing Spider-Man is the Spidey we best recognize from the movies with the well known red and blue suit. As I said even though you play in four different worlds it's not the landscape that makes the real difference, it's the gameplay. In this world you're using more web attacks. Hitting the bad guys with web hammers and things like that.

The Noir Universe. The Noir Spider-Man is based in the 1930's and apart from all the other he's relying almost only on stealth attacks. You will be hiding in the darkness and waiting for the ideal moment to attack when there is no one to see you. There are a couple of attack variations so it won't be tedious if you don't like stealth action. I have never played Batman: Arkham Asylum but when I asked a friend of mine for opinion about Shattered Dimensions he said that the Noir dimension reminds him of Arkham Asylum.

The Ultimate Universe. In the Ultimate dimension Spider-Man has the symbiote suit. He is much more powerful than the Noir spider. It's cool how you just stop thinking about any restrictions. As you play in Noir universe you must be careful and then you get into the Ultimate Universe and there are no limitations. You will just shoot spikes out of your chest or out of the ground and kill the bad guys.

The 2099 Universe. This world takes place 89 years in the future. In this world Spidey will spend more time flying or free falling and will be using more aerial attacks.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is very cool. The plot and always changing gameplay make the game really interesting. I had great time playing around and I wouldn't say that the game is hard.

Are Video Games Truly Bad for You

We have all heard the debate. Gaming has taken the globe by storm for the last decade and right now this really is a part of many of our daily lives. The odd announcement every now and then reporting the strange tendencies of some people not to say the least people committing murders who're addicted to video games specially of the violent sort, sends countless arms flapping specifically those of parents with young and or teenage children and rightly so.

But are video games in fact that undesirable. I have seen kids at family social functions glued to their Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS the entire time without so much as looking up to participate in any chats or banters surrounding them. Then there are those comments from close friends about their husbands spending literally all their free time on video games instead of quality time with the family. So, in the first instance, I am ready to go with the notion that video games are bad. They can be bad for you for these reasons:

??Long hours on the video games can isolate you from your family and friends and affect your relationship with your spouse/partner.

??Late night gaming sessions lead to fatigue which consequently affects work/school performance and can lead to depression and self-esteem issues.

??Extended game play may result in neglect of hygiene, good diet/nutrition and lack of exercise.

??It can impede your social and communication skills.

Having said that, there are researches that say video games can help improve children's hand-eye coordination, improve their analytical skills and help them learn problem solving. Ridiculous as it may sound, playing certain games on Nintendo Wii and the XBox360 can apparently keep us healthy too.

Another argument against the ill-effects of video games is that in this modern day and time, when broadband and internet communications are all the craze if not a necessary skill to have in the very near future, multiplayer games act as a good platform for honing skills in chatting, organising and communicating with players from other parts of the world.

Finally, if it means that after a session of video games we have happier and more cheerful husbands and children because they have managed to chill out with their choice of entertainment, why not. After all, that can't possibly be worse than being a couch potato in front of the telly.

Most people have donned your most well-known garments, swathed the family room in rag, filled a jam jar with water, found a couple of moulting paintbrushes, and smoothed out some yellowing paper. Catherine Game System Game Review And Commentary

In the world today video games are dominated by a small number of principal kinds of games. I prefer to call these as "Feed the Peasant Games" (Medieval II: Total War), "Shooter Games" (Rage), Platform Games (Super Mario Galaxy 2), Sports Simulations (Tiger Woods PGA Tour) and Role Playing Games (Fallout New Vegas). Adventure Games (Shadow Complex) were a one time well-liked variety, but now are nearly neglected. Yes there are even more types and a great number of combos of these genres, however nearly all are placed into some predictable bracket. Catherine for the most part is an Adventure Game.

If you recently read my blog "Packing the Fudge in Your Game and Taking a Byte of Video Game Relationships" (you can Google it), you are aware I analyze that various console games are journeying to a new path of developing relationships and personalized love affairs. So now Catherine, a recent game from Altus certainly hits the mark in this context. The game play centers around Vincent a 30ish information technology worker who works during the day and in the evening when not asleep, he spends time at at his number one bar. Vincent has a significant other named Katherine (yes with a "K"), who is kind of a relentless crone, even though she would seem to have the best of intentions. She is driving him into wedlock and he is uncertain if this is what he actually desires. To throw a wet blanket on his decision, he interacts with a really dissimilar type of chick named Catherine (this one spelled with a "C"). She is young, stunning, very exhilarating and all about having a good time. She finally ends up staying the night with Vincent. At the moment pitiable Vincent is in a dilemma about his particular situation. This forces him to have some horrifying bad dreams filled with sheep who aspire to slay him in actual life.

Your time spent in the game is separated between Vincent's time spent in his dreams, where you will need to accomplish ever increasingly more challenging puzzles to escape from the dream world and periods in the lounge, in which you will be talking with your close friends and pushing the storyline ahead. The creative ideas are unprecedented here on the story-line side of Catherine. This is not your grandfather's model of adventure game. Here you definitely will locate two uncommon video game points, faithfulness and fear of total commitment.

The soundtrack and artwork are excellent and enrich the game play. Personally, I did not care for the Japanamation type of drawing people, because they appear to be from a scene from the "Speed Racer" cartoon, but thank God Chim-Chim is not used. The dream scenes are a succession of the identical puzzle that gets more difficult as the game progresses. These puzzles are not my cup of tea and some users will be unhappy with the hassles they introduce.

Your period of time spent in the bar (The Castrated Goat) or whatever it is called) is the principal area of the game. This is well setup and a delight to play. In these sequences you speak with your good friends and clear up the experiences in your life, getting closer to a solution to your dilemmas. There is ethical compass contained in the game to help you stay in tune with the decision system. This function no doubt sets up an alternate repeat of the game calculated on new selections.

Things I was happy with: Soundtrack, steady graphics and cut scenes, creative storyline, moral compass and original new characters. Contrary to recent bowel discharges for instance Duke Nukem Forever, they also made a very good complimentary demo which allows you to test out the game before you make an investment in the paid edition.

Factors I did not think were good: The repetitive level layout puzzle game. Even though I enjoy anime, 3d generated characters would have been a far more suitable choice. The game is clearly a Japanese game converted into English, but in spite of the amount of Western names are presented the game is philosophically aligned with Japan. Regrettably, to this point the game is only on the market for consoles. So where is the PC adaptation for us controller inept customers?

This product may perhaps appear like a cartoon, but it is certainly not for little tikes. The ideas are very and have the current warning: Blood, Partial Nudity, Sexual Situations, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. The game is rated M for valid reasons. On some discussion boards Catherine is reviled mainly because it is not a pornographic material. So if you are an 18 year old monkey spanker, forget about this game and go right to your favorite porn site and download explicit Japanese animations.

All in all Catherine is a nice, pleasing title which provides relationship challenges and solutions, action and mystery. I rate it Very Good. Footage of Catherine can be seen at GamePirates Forums Video Area, thanks to associate Susan Lancaster. So check it out and let us know what you like or dislike about this game!

Gears of War – Judgment Xbox Review

In case you own an Xbox 360 gaming device, you simply must have Gears of War game in your favorite collection. As a matter of fact, if you truly believe that you are a real gamer, you probably own all three Gears of War sequels that have been released up to this date. But whether you already are a fan of the series or not, the upcoming 4th addition to the series, named Gears of War: Judgment, is sure to be of interest to you. According to both rumors and official sneak-peaks and announcements, it seems that the Gears of War: Judgment is aiming to become the best game of the series. That would be no small feat, considering that Gears of War 3 has set very high standards, with most game critics awarding it with scores north of 90 points (out of 100).

To quickly introduce the series to those who are unfamiliar with it, Gears of War is a third person shooter which takes place on a fictional planed called "Sera" which in many ways resembles planet Earth. The storyline focuses on a war between humans and "Locust"; violent creatures that previously lived underground until one day, they found their way out to the surface and wiped out a large portion of the human population. This day became known as the "Emergence Day". Ever since then, a war has been raging between the remaining human population and the Locust, with each group attempting to eliminate the other.

While the first three sequels have focused on the events after the Emergence day, rather surprisingly, Gears of War: Judgment will take the player back in time to the most critical moment of the whole story - the immediate aftermath of the Emergence Day. According to the trailer first shown at E3 in June 2012, we can look forward to playing along characters that have accompanied us since the first sequel, such as Augustus Cole and Damon Baird, but we are also going to be getting to know three new key characters.

According to the developers, some of the most exciting new features are the completely new multiplayer modes. One of them is a thrilling, class-based competitive "OverRun" mode, in which the players (known as COG in Gears of War terms) will battle Locust head-to-head in a way "unlike anything Gears fans have experienced yet" (taken from official GoW statement).

The game is planned to go on shelves on March 19th, but can be pre-ordered already on sites such as Amazon. As is the case with the Gears of War series, with the exception of the first game which was also released for PC, it will be available exclusively for Xbox 360. So if you are an owner of a PC or Playstation 3, you are unfortunately out of luck.

Regardless of whether you are new to the series or a veteran player, 19th of March 2013 is a day that you certainly want to mark on your calendar. Perhaps even consider taking a few days off work and stockpiling on food. Because if Gears of War: Judgment meets its expectations, we will without a doubt have a serious contender for the game-of-the year award for 2013!
